ANANTAPUR: In another sordid incident, a 40-year-old man raped a five-year-old girl child at Erranela Kottala in Anatnapur on Wednesday night. The incident came to light on Thursday after the parents approached III-Town Police to register a complaint.

Sources said an auto driver resides with his wife and four daughters in Erranela Kottala in Anantapur headquarters; his wife works in a private hospital in the outskirts of the city.

 

After completing work, both husband and wife used to reach home by 10 every night. In the meantime, the children were looked after by their grandmother. On Wednesday evening, the second daughter was playing in the house while the three others were playing outside.

Kiran who lived in the same colony, entered the house in a drunken state. The grandmother thought he had come to the house to speak to the children. He gave Rs 10 to the five-year-old girl to buy chocolates, but then raped her inside the washroom of the house.

Alerted by the girl who screamed for help, neighbours rushed the spot and nabbed the accused and handed him over to the police. Soon after, the parents arrived home and saw that their daughter was molested. They shifted her to the general hospital on Thursday.

III-Town Police registered a case against Kiran based on the complaint.
