SOT Rachakonda Arrests Ganja Smugglers, Substance Worth Rs 1.15 Crores Seized

Hyderabad: SOT Rachakonda on Monday arrested nine interstate ganja smugglers and seized 380 kilograms of ganja, 4 four wheelers and other property worth Rs 1.15 crore from their possession.

In another case, Malkajgiri Zone along with Yacharam police apprehended five persons for indulging in transportation of contraband dry Ganja from upper Sileru to Hyderabad and Buldana city of Maharashtra State to gain illegal money and seized 220 kilograms the contraband two four wheelers and five mobile phones all worth Rs 65 lakh from their possession.

The accused were arrested while transporting the contraband at Gungal crossroads in Yacharam.

The prime accused Mohammed Feroz, and Dinesh Singh, were previously involved in NDPS cases and they are having good contacts with ganja suppliers in upper Sileru of AP state.

The accused confessed during interrogation that they had started from Hyderabad to Slieru of AP state in two four wheeler vehicles Toyota Innova bearing number AP 29 BD 6599 and a Honda City bearing number AP 12 EG 9756.

After reaching Mothugudem, East godavari district, they purchased ganja of 220 kgs, the accused Mukund loaded the same in the vehicles and started to Buldhana city of Maharashtra State, to sell the ganja to Thakur at Buldhana city of Maharastra when intercepted and arrested , the commissioner said.

S. Satish, Mohammed Khadar and Abdul Rawoof were arrested while Mukund is still absconding.
