Hyderabad: A 29-month-old boy was mowed down by a speeding car when he was playing at his house in Hayathnagar, said police.
The boy was injured and admitted to a hospital where he succumbed on Monday night. The police registered a case and handed over the body after the autopsy at Osmania General Hospital mortuary.
According to Hayathnagar police, at around 5.30 pm on Monday, K. Vishal was playing near his house in Banjara Colony when the accident took place.
A speeding car (TS 05 UA 7392) which was passing by the road ran over the boy.
The boy suffered internal injuries and was rushed to Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar for treatment, where he succumbed at around 11.30 pm.
The deceased boy’s father, K. Gopal lodged a complaint against the car driver K. Anil, alleging that his negligence has caused the death of the boy and requested necessary action.
A case was registered under section 304 A of IPC for the probe and handed over the body to his family, the police officials told this newspaper.
