Jisha's mother wants Ameerul hanged soon

Though Islam was convicted and sentenced to death in December 2017, the court order was yet to be implemented, she said.

KOCHI: Rajeswari, mother of law student Jisha, who was murdered by migrant worker Ameerul Islam in Perumbavoor on April 28, 2016, has sought quick implementation of the court order in the case. Though Islam was convicted and sentenced to death in December 2017, the court order was yet to be implemented, she said.

"I am concerned that even two years after the murder, the convicted has not been punished. I will go to any extent to get the court order implemented," she told reporters here on Friday. Rajeswari also sought police intervention in preventing people from capturing her pictures and videos and sharing them through the social media.

"Persons with vested interests are following me to take pictures and using them to insult me through the social media. The police should bring such persons before the law," she demanded. A few weeks before Jisha was murdered, Rajeswari had met with an accident, which she claimed was an attempt to murder her by a migrant worker. But the police haven't made any attempt to punish the accused, she alleged.
