3-year-old raped in Delhi
NEW DELHI: A three-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in central Delhi’s Anand Parbat on Wednesday morning. However, the incident came to light only on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Vijay, 22, a daily wage labourer, was caught red handed by his neighbours after which his was thrashed and handed over to the police.
The girl has been hospitalised where she underwent a surgery. She has reportedly suffered injuries to her private parts and is currently kept under observation.
The girl lives with her family in a slum cluster in Anand Parbat’s Baljeet Nagar. Her father works as a rickshaw puller, while her mother works as a domestic help in the locality. According to a senior police official, the incident took place when girl’s parents were busy in some work in the morning and the girl went out to play. Finding her alone, Vijay allegedly lured her to his shanty with the promise of chocolates. On realising that she is missing her parents searched the local huts and went to Vijay’s shanty too as he used to visit the family. “The parents were shocked when they saw Vijay allegedly forcing himself on their daughter. The mother raised an alarm after which Vijay tried to flee. However, the girl’s father overpowered him with the help of some neighbours,” said a local.
