Tirupati: 6 YSRC men held for distributing cash to voters

According to East Division SI, S. Jaya Chandra the arrested persons were working for YSRC. Rs 44,016 was seized from the accused.

Tirupati: Six persons, believed to be working for YSR Congress, were detained on Thursday for allegedly distributing cash to voters at Sanjay Gandhi Colony which comes under Tirupati Assembly segment.

The arrested were identified as S. Gafur, S. Madhan Mohan, J. Upendra, J. Sudhakar Reddy, G. Chinna Govind and C. Munirama Reddy, all hailing from Tirupati.

Police along with ECIs flying squad team led by A. Varadha Reddy took them into custody on receiving information from an anonymous person about their distribution of cash to voters, in order to lure the votes.

According to East Division SI, S. Jaya Chandra the arrested persons were working for YSRC. Rs 44,016 was seized from the accused.

The Telugu Desam cadre alleged that the accused persons have been working for YSR Congress’s candidate Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
