Law student, father held for picketing auditor's house by Chennai police

CHENNAI: Law student Nandhini and her father Anandan had been detained for a while by city police for trying to protest before auditor Gurumurthy’s residence, on Wednesday.

The duo was alleging that Gurumurthy has been secretly influencing the state government and had come to Mylapore to conduct agitation. Gurumurthy’s residence is located in Thiyagarajapuram, Mylapore.

However, the police stopped them near Santhome Church and detained them in Ambedkar Mani Mandapam. Later the police released them. Nandhini is known for her agitations against Tasmac wine shops in the state. Meanwhile, the police have beefed up security near Gurumurthy’s residence.
