Central Crime Branch of Chennai arrests 2 more in TRB scam

Following a complaint from TRB officials, police registered a case against 156 persons and arrested eight persons.

Chennai: Central Crime Branch of Chennai police arrested two more persons for their alleged involvement in polytechnic lecturers recruitment scam on Wednesday. 

The arrested were identified as S. Sankaravel (39) of Mogappair and M. Sivaraman (37) of Neyveli. According to police sources, a major scam had been unearthed regarding the conduct of polytechnic lecturers recruitment exam organised by Teachers’ Recruitment Board (TRB) in September. 

 

Following a complaint from TRB officials, police registered a case against 156 persons and arrested eight persons and another person surrendered to the police.  

Of the nine persons, five have been detained under the Goondas Act. “With Wednesday arrest, 11 persons were arrested and further investigation is on,” the police said.
