Kerala: Former journalist files complaint for wrongly using her photo

The portal has published a statement denying the allegation and saying that the screenshots were fake.

Thiruvananthapuram: A former journalist has filed a complaint with the state police chief saying that an online portal has wrongly used her photo as the woman who allegedly trapped former Minister A K Saseendran. There has been no action on the complaint, according to the complainant Sunitha Devadas. The complaint against Daily Indian Herald has been forwarded to the Crime Branch, according to sources at the police headquarters. “Crime Branch IG S Sreejith is investigating the case, so that an FIR can be filed,” said a senior police official.

In her complaint mailed to DGP Lokantha Behera on the night of March 29, Sunitha says, “on Wednesday, March 28, I woke up to a shocking representation of myself in a particular news report on an online portal named Daily Indian Herald. They carried a news report on the alleged “honey trapper” with her blurred images. But when they posted the story on their Facebook timeline, they used a picture of mine, with only the face blurred out, to represent the woman in question.” The portal has published a statement denying the allegation and saying that the screenshots were fake.
