Jishnu Prannoy suicide case: P Krishnadas summoned for questioning by cops
Thrissur: Chairman of Nehru Group of Institutions P. Krishnadas was summoned by the investigation team to Irinjalakuda DySP office on Tuesday evening for questioning in the Jishnu Prannoy suicide case. Rural SP N. Vijayakumar, who is supervising the investigation, said that as a part of the procedure, his arrest would be registered and he would be released after questioning without being remanded. The Supreme Court had earlier granted Krishnadas anticipatory bail in the case and he also managed to get anticipatory bail from High Court in the assault and abduction of Shaheer Showkat Ali, a former student of Nehru Law School at Lakkidi.
Jishnu, who was a student of Nehru College Pampady was found hanging in the college hostel after he was brutally assaulted by the college authorities alleging that he tried to copy during the examination. Meanwhile, Jishnu’s family members said that the arrest was a farce to stop them from resorting to a hunger strike in front of the DGP office in Thiruvanathapuram demanding the arrest of all the accused in the case who did not get bail yet.
