Fasal murder case: CBI court notice to probe team
KANNUR: On a petition filed by the brother of slain NDF worker P.K. Fasal, the CBI court issued a notice to the probe team, to check on the new developments after an RSS worker admitting to having killed him. The petition was submitted by Abdul Sathar in the CBI court, Kochi. In his petition, he complained that no new advances were made by the probe team even after the state police chief notifying about the confession. An RSS worker Embrantavida Subeesh had confessed that he and three others were behind the 2006 killing.
He made the confession during interrogation in connection with the murder of CPM leader K. Mohanan near Anjarakandy in October. Kannur CPM district secretariat member Karayi Rajan and Thiruvangad local committee secretary Karayi Chandrasekharan were jailed after the CBI named them as 7th and 8th accused respectively in the case. The CBI had taken up the probe on February 14, 2008, after a petition by Fasal’s wife Mariyu in the High Court. The CBI had also submitted a charge sheet.
