Telangana: 45-year-old woman and her son held for murder

The woman killed him with the help of five others, including a rowdy-sheeter.

Hyderabad: A 45-year-old woman and her son were arrested by police for allegedly killing a home guard in Kulsumpura. The woman, A. Shobha, who earlier had a sexual relationship with the slain home guard L. Ravindra Chary, killed him with the help of five others, including a rowdy-sheeter.

Anoop Darvesh, 24, a rowdy-sheeter, Sandeep Kamle, 26, Panuganti Lokesh, 22, Myatari Ravi Kumar, 20, and Ambati Naresh, 24, son of Shoba, were arrested. Police said the suspects got the victim drunk and beat him to death at the Imampura graveyard in Jiyaguda. Later, they tried to burn the body using petrol.

Police said the home guard was Shobha’s sister’s husband. “After Shobha’s husband died seven years ago they had an affair. During that Shobha gave money to Chary several times. She claimed she had given around Rs 2.8 lakh to him. But he never paid it back," said inspector R.M. Ram Mohan Rao. “Shobha’s daughter was hospitalised and later died. Even during that Chary did not pay money. This led to murder,” he added. The suspects invited the victim for a drink, and when he got drunk they took him to the graveyard and killed him, police said.
