Hyderabad: A dowry harassment case was registered against SI Chittibabu, wife Saroja, son Premkumar and daughter Swarnalatha at the Malkajgiri police station in 2015. Prem Kumar’s wife Peace Angel filed a complaint. Ms Angel said that during their marriage in 2010 her parents had given Rs 5 lakh and 10 tolas of gold as dowry. After sometime, her husband and in-laws started harassing her demanding Rs 3 lakh more.
“My parents gave Rs 1,00,011 to my father-in-law and a gold chain to my husband but they did not change,” she said in her complaint. A case under Section 498-A and Section 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act was registered. Sources said that on Thursday Chittibabu and his wife had come to Hyderabad for compromise talks.
