Mr Rajender advised political parties, public organisations and community outfits not to politicise the sexual assault.

Karimnagar: Finance and civil supplies minister Etela Rajender said that justice would be done to victim of Veenavanka gangrape and the accused would be punished severely by completing hearing of the case within 3 months through a fast-track court to be set up soon.

He spoke to reporters here on Friday. Veenav-anka is located in Huzurabad Assembly constituency represented by this minister. Terming the sexual assault as an extreme incident, Mr Rajender assured that the victim would be offered financial aid and a government job.

Similarly, a fast track court would be established for disposing the sensational rape case at the earliest. Efforts are being made to speed up the hearing. All of the three accused in the heinous crime would be awarded with stringent punishment, he stated.

The minister stated the TRS-led government introduced many reforms in the police department and was committed to provide security to women.

Steps are being taken to put an end to recurrence of such incidents in future. But, we cannot see results overnight. SHE teams would be introduced across the state soon for curbing crime against women, he asserted.

Mr Rajender advised political parties, public organisations and community outfits not to politicise the sexual assault. It is unfair to see political angles in this kind of incidents. I visited the victim’s residence and instructed top police officials to investigate into the case meticulously soon after learning about the gangrape through residents of Challur village, he added.
