Hyderabad: Romance angle to murder of Sanjay Junge

Nearly 700 calls were made from Sanjay's mobile to one of his female colleagues in the past one week.

Hyderabad: There is no breakthrough in the brutal murder of techie Sanjay Junge, as police is yet to identify the owner of the white Swift car used in the attack. Cops say only a part of the registration number was available.

Police said they identified 43 white Swift cars with BOSS (8055) number in TS & AP. Of them, 11 cars are in Hyderabad, and cops are trying to find out ownership details of these cars.

Sanjay, 24, worked with Sutherland Global Services in Gachibowli. Police also found that nearly 700 calls were made from Sanjay’s mobile to one of his female colleagues in the past one week, and that she has a boyfriend working abroad.
“She has a boyfriend working abroad. We are trying to ascertain if he hired someone to kill Sanjay,” police said.Sanjay was murdered near Swapnalok Complex in Secunderabad on Thursday morning, while he was returning home after attending a party. with his friends. Sources said that three suspects were detained by police, but police denied any arrest.

After the murder at the early morning hour, police verified the CCTV footages. This helped them identify the car number as BOSS(8055). However, they could not progress from here, as the vehicle could be spotted only till Tank Bund.

With the help of transport department, cops traced 43 white colour Swift cars with numbers as BOSS, in both TS and AP. Out of them, 11 are located in Hyderabad area. "We are verifying things with them and questioning the car owners. But nothing has come up still," said Mahankali Inspector satyanarayana.

While analysing Sanjay's call records, police found that Sanjay made around 700 calls from his mobile to female colleague. "She has a boyfriend working abroad. We are trying to ascertain if he hired someone to finish off Sanjay," police said. "We are working on all angles," said another investigating official.
