Hyderabad: Madannapet police on Friday arrested Ravi, a notorious criminal involved in eight criminal cases. Police seized 17.5 tolas of gold jewellery worth around '5 lakh from him.
Police said that in 2013 a rally was held by supporters of YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy when he was released from Chanchalguda prison. “During this rally Ravi and his wife robbed a woman’s two gold chains and escaped from the scene,” said Santosh Nagar ACP V. Srinivasulu.
On Thursday, Ravi was found moving suspiciously in Madannapet. Questioned by cops, he confessed thefts. Police found Ravi and his wife were involved in six cases. Police recovered around 17.5 tolas of gold from Ravi. His wife is absconding.
