ACB finds Rs 3 crore assets, room full of silver at Hyderabad officer's home

The officer was earlier arrested by the ACB for accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a vehicle owner for doing some official favour.

Hyderabad: ACB sleuths raided the houses of Khairatabad RTO administrative officer J. Narender and found more than Rs 3 crore worth unaccounted assets, including a room full of silver.

He was earlier arrested by the ACB for accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a vehicle owner for doing some official favour. According to ACB officials, Narendra had houses in different parts of the city.

“He owns three open plots and three houses. We recovered 600 grams gold, Rs 22 lakh in bank accounts,” said an ACB official.

The market value of all the assets would be Rs 3 crore. In January, ACB officials had trapped Narendra in his office while he was accepting bribe from a victim.

He had obtained bail and came out of jail. The ACB booked him in a new case for disproportionate assets. Narender, who is under suspension, is likely to be arrested again.
