Sit-in Protest at Private Hospital After Woman Dies

Kakinada: Relatives of a woman staged an agitation in front of a private hospital at Rajamahendravaram alleging that she had died due to negligence of the doctors.

According to agitators, the woman, Mounika Rani, had been admitted to the hospital for delivery on Wednesday.

Initially, doctors told the relatives that a normal delivery is possible. But later, they informed them that a caesarean will be needed and advised them to bring 10 units of blood.

Relatives said in the early hours of Thursday, doctors brought out the baby and told the relatives that the uterus of the mother should be removed. Subsequently, doctors informed relatives that the woman had died of a heart-attack.

Relatives started an agitation suspecting negligence in treatment.

Some local leaders entered the scene and pacified the agitators, while One Town police increased security at the hospital.
