Warangal: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old-youth stabbed a girl, slit her throat and chest after the girl rejected his marriage proposal in Ramnagar area of Kadipikonda under Madikonda police station limits, Hanamkonda district, on Wednesday.
Police said Srinivas was the resident of the Kadipikonda village and the girl (21) of the same village belonged to another community. They were in love for the past three years. The girl’s parents later warned Srinivas against his closeness to her.
Meanwhile, Srinivas changed his community for the sake of the girl and approached her parents, but they went and lodged a complaint against Srinivas with the police on Tuesday morning. After counseling both the families, Srinivas was warned by the police against further disturbance to the girl.
In the evening, Srinivas went to the girl’s house and tried to find out the reason for her refusal to marry him. When she stood her ground, Srinivas attacked the girl with a knife. Listening to her screams, her family members rescued her and thrashed Srinivas.
The girl with serious injuries was taken immediately to a private hospital and later to the MGM hospital. Srinivas was also admitted to the same hospital. The condition of both was stable, police said.
