Hyderabad: Rachakonda police busted an attempt by a gang to grab an NRI's land in Choutuppal. The police arrested 15 members of the gang on Saturday including the husband of MPP Bibinagar and seized Rs 8 lakh and documents. Deepak Kant Vyas, belonging to Bibinagar purchased around 26 acres in Raghavapuram village in Yadadri district. Of this, 24 acres was registered in his name and two acres in his wife's name in 1994. Coming to know of this, a realtor named Korni Mahesh planned to grab the land by creating fake documents. He engaged Sambaiah, Yadagiri and Bala Chary to create fake documents, passbooks and title deeds and gave them Rs 5 lakh for the job. With the help of his brother-in-law Venu, Bala Chary approached Srinivas who in turn directed them to Shankar and offered him Rs 1 lakh to create a fake Aadhaar card of Deepak with Shankar's photograph. While Basawaraj filled up details in the empty pass book, Chary engaged Laxman for preparing rubber stamps with the seal of the MRO and RDO. “Mahesh offered Rs 70,000 to the sub registrar and Rs 30,000 to the document writer for not objecting, and with their support fake land documents were created,” police commissioner Mahesh Bhagawat said.

A few months ago, Deepak Kant came to know through his relatives that his land had been grabbed. He approached the Choutuppal sub registrar. The sub registrar found the land had been grabbed and filed a complaint. Police registered a case under Sections 419, 420, 468, 471, 474, 120 (B) and section 82 of the Registration Act and arrested 15 persons including Bibinagar MPP’s husband Pingal Reddy who financed the deal.
