Kalaburagi: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered in Alanda of Kalaburagi district. The police who initiated a probe have booked and detained a 16-year-old boy in connection to this.
Sources said that the minor girl had been to attend nature’s call on Tuesday when she was sexually assaulted and strangulated.The dead body of the girl was found in a sugarcane field.
Superintendent of Police Isha Pant and other officials visited the spot and collected details from the family members and villagers.
A case was registered at Alanda Police Station. Police teams were formed to find the accused.The police who began the probe detained a boy from the same village within 24 hours.
Earlier in the day protests were held at Alanda and Sedam on Wednesday demanding the arrest and action against the accused.
