Guntur Special Mobile court grants bail to Bandaru Satyanarayana

Visakhapatnam: Guntur Special mobile magistrate court granted bail to former minister and TD senior leader Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy on Tuesday evening.

Earlier the AP High Court said it would hear the bail petition of Murthy on October 5. Murthy was arrested by the Guntur police from his home in Visakhapatnam on Monday evening following two cases filed against him for abusing Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and tourism minister R.K. Roja.

Satyanarayana Murthy’s lawyers argued that Section 41(a) notices were served in both the cases and how the police could arrest him. The government lawyer said no notices were served on the former minister under Section41(a). The High Court asked the government lawyer to file counters and adjourned the further hearing to October 5.

Earlier, medical tests were conducted on Murthy at Guntur Government Hospital on Tuesday morning amidst high drama. The police prevented his lawyers and his son Bandaru Appala Naidu from entering into the hospital. The doctors told the police that he needed to be admitted in the hospital as his blood pressure was high.
