SIT grills Nalgonda collector's BIL in alleged links with Nayeemuddin

The police had earlier booked a case against Reddy in order to investigate his role in the gangsters' activities.

Hyderabad: The SIT on Monday grilled Chintala Venkateshwar Reddy, a TRS leader and brother-in-law of Nalgonda collector Satyanarayana Reddy, for alleged links with slain gangster Nayeemuddin. The police had earlier booked a case against Reddy in order to investigate his role in the gangsters’ activities.

As per the case booked by Bhongir police, Venkateshwar Reddy had been an associate of Nayeemuddin for 15 years and is suspected to be involved in several major extortion cases in Telangana. Nayeem had also allegedly helped Venkateshwar Reddy to amass a lot of wealth. the investigation offficials said.

Investigation officials have not yet divulged details of Venkateshwar Reddy’s specific activities when he was associated with Nayeem’s gang. However, sources said that Venkateshwar had taken the help of Nayeem’s associates to extort money from contractors and businessmen and had got some lands transferred to his proxy’s name.

Venkateshwar Reddy, who unsuccessfully contested in the 2014 Assembly elections on a Congress ticket, is now a prominent leader of the TRS in Nalgonda district.
