Hyderabad: A 55-year-old businessman was allegedly murdered by his rivals over a land dispute. The incident happened in Moosabowli. Police said some people stabbed Mirza Khalid Baig to death. His family alleged that one Mujeebullah Shareef and his associates were behind the attack.
Police said Baig, a resident of Moosabowli, had a dispute with his neighbour Shareef over the land in which Baig’s house was located. They were quarrelling over the issue since many years.
On Monday morning, Baig left home for work in his car. “After he drove some distance, Shareef and five others intercepted Baig’s vehicle, pulled him out and attacked him with swords and knives,” Hussaini Alam inspector R. Shaymsundar said.
After confirming that Baig was dead they fled from the spot. Baig suffered injuries on the head, forehead, back and other parts. He was declared dead at a private hospital. Police registered a case under Sections 302, 147, 148, 120B and 34 and started an investigation.
