Hyderabad: A 26-year-old woman, a daily wage earner, was reportedly sexually assaulted by a labour contractor, who offered her work at an under construction site in Narsingi. Three days after the incident, the woman lodged a complaint with the police, who have registered a case of rape.
According to Narsingi police, the victim is a resident of Shaikpet. She along with her husband and a four-year-old daughter migrated to the city from a village in Rangareddy district about five months ago.
Ravi, 36, a native of Pebber in Mahabubnagar, also lives in Shaikpet. He works as a mason and also as a labour contractor. He met the victim three days ago and offered to provide her work at an under-construction building in Alakpur Colony.
The same evening Ravi took the woman to the top floor of the building and sexually assaulted her. The woman did not tell her husband about the incident. But on Sunday, she told her husband and they went to the police station and lodged a complaint. Following the complaint, a case has been registered under section 376 of the IPC, the police said.
