Nayeem case is now the biggest one
Hyderabad: The crackdown after the death of gangster Nayeem has become one of the biggest cases the Telangana police has ever probed. The number of arrested people crossed 50 on Friday. Officials say that the list of suspects including a regional transport officer has been prepared based on the arrests and confessions. However, despite speculations the connections of police bigwigs with the gangsters has not been established so far.
Among the 54 who have been arrested most are rowdy sheeters, close aides of Nayeem and family members. The 62 cases booked till now are connected to arms possession, land grabbing, threatening, physical attacks and murders. The SIT said that hundreds have approached the police in connection with the Nayeem case. "The maximum number of complaints were reported from Bhongir, the native place of Nayeem. Hundreds including NRIs had called the police using the phone number provided by SIT. Going by the complaints more people will be arrested. The investigation has now become out the biggest for the Telangana police," said the cop.
