Eamcet: Coaching centres on radar in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) is now looking for some consultants, who run private coaching institutes across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as they suspect that they have a role in the Eamcet-2 question paper leak. The CID probe team suspects that the consultants had acted as brokers between the students and the scam's kingpins.
Meanwhile, for the first time state Intelligence agencies are spreading their net wide and checking up all private coaching institutes in Telangana to prevent another question paper leak in the next Eamcet exam.
CID sources said the students and parents were first contacted by the consultants, who acted as local agents across the two states. They clinched the deal with the parents and took money on behalf of the kingpins. They then made travel arrangements for the students to camps in Pune and Bengaluru. They worked for the kingpins for huge commissions. The investigation has revealed that around 20 agents are still at large.
Sources said the CID officials have already collected details of most of the suspects by analysing the call data of students and the arrested agents. Each agent earned around Rs 5 lakh through the deal.
