Hyderabad: 10 more held in Biryani Shah attack case
Hyderabad: The Kalapather police picked up 10 more people in connection with the clashes reported on last Thursday at Biryani Shah Tekri in Old City. Three persons were arrested in the case by the police on Saturday.
The clashes were a fall-out of issues involving two groups of history-sheeters of Kalapather police station. During the clashes, a group ransacked the house of one Wajid, and in the melle some women were injured. An hour before the attack Wajid went to the area where one of the alleged attackers, identified as Wahed Mirza, lives and taunted his family members. “Wahed Mirza and two others of his associates were caught and remanded on Sunday. Ten members of the rival gang were nabbed by our teams and a few more will be rounded up in a day or two,” said V. Satyanarayana, the deputy commissioner of police (south).
Meanwhile, following the clash, the police searched the houses of notorious history-sheeters in the old city and rounded them up. “Across the old city, the police had called those with adverse record to the police stations and warned them. Those who were involved in grave bodily offences were also summoned to the police station,” said the Satyanarayana.
The police have proposed to invoke Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Goondas Act against a few and opening history-sheets against frequent trouble makers, he said.
