Hyderabad: Orphanage owner molests girl

The police is now investigating if Rao had molested any other girl, who lives in the orphanage.

Hyderabad: LB Nagar police arrested an orphanage owner for allegedly molesting a Class IX student, who was an inmate in his orphanage. Police had booked a case against owner Jadi Madhava Rao, founder of Aadharana, following a complaint from the victim.

The girl, a Class IX student from the orphanage, in a complaint to the police said that Madhav Rao used to call her to his room on the premises and molest her.

Following the complaint, a case under Section 354A of IPC and under relevant sections of Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act was registered against Rao and he was arrested. He is being produced before a court on Tuesday, an official from LB Nagar police station said.

The police is now investigating if Rao had molested any other girl, who lives in the orphanage. As per the website of Aadarana orphanage, Rao founded the home for “orphans and needy students in 2003”.

“Aadarana means to hug orphans and provide them shelter in an homely atmosphere. It was established to help provide orphan children with accommodation, education and knowledge all under one roof compensating the love and affection of the parents, which they lost,” says the website.

Earlier, TS Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy had inaugurated the new building of Aadarana at LB Nagar.

Last month, in another case, Malkajgiri police arrested M. Sunith Kumar founder of an NGO ‘Save A Child,’ in Secunderabad for repeatedly raping a minor girl.
