Telangana: Man says gang attacked him, killed his daughter
Karimnagar: In a shocking incident two persons strangled a 19-year old newly married woman after kidnapping her when she and her father were going to her native place from her in-laws’ residence. The incident occurred on the outskirts of the Deshaipet village in Medipalli mandal on Saturday night.
However, the police thinks the woman’s father might have killed her and might have filed a complaint to cover up his offence.
Koratla inspector K. Rajasekhar Raju said the deceased was Emukapalli Mounika of Deshaipet village. She was married to a resident of Muthkuraopet village three months back. Her husband and father had gone to Gulf for employment. They have now come back.
According to the complaint lodged by father Bhumalla Peddamalliah two persons wearing masks attacked him. After that they grabbed his daughter when they both were about to reach Deshaipet at around 10 pm. He said the assailants had sprinkled sedatives on him.
Peddamalliah said that she had called him on Friday evening and had requested him to take her as Ashadam was approaching. Based on the complaint, police registered a missing case and took up investigations on Saturday.
“When we questioned him his versions seemed contradictory. He did not give correct information about the spot of the incident. The body was traced with the help of villagers. The six tolas of gold ornaments wore by Mounika were not stolen. I think he has approached us to cover up his involvement in the murder,” stated a police official.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Mounika was throttled with her sari near the farm of Peddamallaiah. His relations with his wife and daughter are bad. Though, he had spent Rs 6 lakh for Mounika’s wedding his contributions were not recognised by them.
