NRI hacked to death in broad daylight at Nagarukavu
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a gruesome incident, a 32-year-old man was hacked to death by an unidentified bike rider in broad daylight on a road at Nagarukavu near Chirayinkeezhu on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Dileep, 32, a resident of Nainamkonam, Kizhuvilam. He used to work in a Gulf country and was in Kerala on a month-long holiday.
The police who has already identified the suspect said that the murder was committed by a friend turned foe of the suspect. As per Chirayankeezhu police, Dileep was riding a bike through the main road at Nagarukavu when he was waylaid by the suspect. The man who apparently came armed, with the intention of killing Dileep started an argument on the street.
The passersby walked by considering it as a normal argument. But minutes later, at around 4.30pm Dileep was found hacked and in a pool of blood. The suspect who was believed to be a co-worker of the deceased had allegedly hacked the man on his neck and torso with a sharp object.
During the pandemonium, the suspect left a motorcycle which served as a major clue for police to identify him. The victim who was a tradesman was expected to return to the Gulf country on July 29. The body has been taken to Medical College for autopsy. Police has started a manhunt to nab the suspect.
