Hyderabad: HRC seeks report on land grabbing case

Though the S-I has been residing in the area, he has not been paying maintenance for the last eight years.

Hyderabad: The State Human Rights Commission has ordered the ACP in Miyapur to submit a detailed inquiry report on the allegations made by an official from the State Intelligence Wing about the encroachment of land allotted for a park, grabbing temple land in the colony and using the temple income for his personal use.

Janapriya Nagar Residents’ Welfare Association Phase-I, claimed that D.V. Narayana Reddy who works as a sub-inspector in the Intelligence wing The commissioner ordered the report to be submitted by August 28.

The residents in their petition claimed that they had taken possession of the land and made a colony. A part of the land was allotted for a park and another part was allotted for a temple. With the help of donations from residents and outsiders, a temple was constructed. In 2003, Narayana Reddy was elected as the colony association president and since then has been taking the temple income for personal use.

Meanwhile, he also constructed a multi-storeyed building in the area allocated for a park. Though he is residing in one of the flats, he has not been paying maintenance for the last eight years. The house was also constructed without valid approvals.

“Whenever we ask him, he threatens us with false cases. A cheating case has also been registered at Miyapur Police station and an investigation is on, but his atrocities continues,” residents said.
