Karnataka: Whistleblower alleges lapses in probe

Anurag's elder brother Mayank Tiwari has some crucial facts to share.'

Bengaluru: The investigation into the tragic death of Karnataka cadre IAS officer Anurag Tiwari is getting murkier with every passing day. Former IAS officer and whistleblower M.N. Vijayakumar who is seeking an impartial probe into the officer’s death has alleged that Anurag's elder brother Mayank Tiwari had some crucial facts to be shared which could help dig out the truth behind the alleged murder.

Vijayakumar stated that Mayank wanted him to be present at Anurag’s residence during the visit by the Uttar Pradesh Special Investigation Team and while recording Mayank’s statement. Addressing media persons on Saturday, Vijayakumar alleged that when the SIT team visited Anurag's home and broke open the seal, there were no witnesses.

"After Anurag experienced some untoward incidents at his residence, he had installed CCTVs on the premises. This itself indicates that Anurag was facing life threats. But the state government is deliberately suppressing these facts," Vijayakumar said. He demanded impartial probe into the case by the CBI.
