Hyderabad: An 8-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a security guard a week ago. On Friday, the minor complained to her mother about pain and told her that the man had touched her inappropriately. The suspect was identified as Ramana Rao, 60. Based on a complaint from the girl’s mother, Sumalatha, S.R. Nagar police booked a case.
“He was working as the watchman of the house adjacent to the victim’s house, owned by Sumalatha’s sister. About a week ago, when the girl was coming to her house from her aunt’s, the man touched her inappropriately,” said SR Nagar inspector Mohd Waheeduddin. But the mother told the police that he had raped her. “We are awaiting medical reports,” added the inspector. Mr Waheeduddin said the man is ailing. Further proceedings will be carried out once medical reports are available.
S.R Nagar police booked a case and took the accused into custody.
