Hyderabad: Man gets lifer for killing wife

The accused who was harassing his wife for additional dowry had hit her with a hammer on her chest and face before throttling her to death.

Hyderabad: An electrician from Chintal area in Jeedimetla was convicted in a murder case of his wife on Friday. The court directed the accused to undergo life imprisonment and pay Rs 1,500 towards penalty.

According to the Cyberabad police, a case was registered against Marishetty Shiva Rama Krishna, an electrician living at Chandranagar in Chintal in January 2013, for killing his wife demanding more dowry.

The accused who was harassing his wife for additional dowry had hit her with a hammer on her chest and face before throttling her to death.

He later packed her dead body in a water drum and dumped it in the forest area of Nallavelli village in Jinnaram mandal of Medak district.

He was arrested and sent for judicial remand subsequently, and the case was also transferred to Jeedimetla police station from Jinnaram. After the completion of the investigation, the case was charge-sheeted before the Second Additional District Judge at LB Nagar.
