Saifullah's sister Samina (name changed), who is already married, was in a relationship with Altaf for the last few years.

BENGALURU: A day after the murder of a 25-year-old cab driver, Hennur police arrested five people who hacked Althaf Pasha to death near Geddalahalli in Hennur police station limits on Monday night.

The police arrested Saifullah (26), Mohammed Nazeemuddin (22), Mohammad Shahrukh (23), Syed Wasim (24) and Mohammad Mehboob (28). On Monday night, they followed Altaf's car in an auto and a bike, waylaid him and hacked him to death.

During the interrogation, prime accused Saifullah told the police that he along with the other accused killed Altaf as he had illicit affair with his sister.

Saifullah's sister Samina (name changed), who is already married, was in a relationship with Altaf for the last few years. Samina's husband, who learnt about his wife's affair, told one of the accused Wasim about it. He had also warned Altaf that the consequences would be dire if Samina's brother Saifullah came to know about it. Altaf did not pay heed, but was caught by Saifullah one day. A furious Saifullah along with other accused hatched a plan and hacked Altaf to death near his house on Monday night.
