Karnataka: Ganapathy's parents to be parties in case

The case has been put off for further hearing to April 10.

Mysuru: In a new twist to DySP Ganapathi suicide case, Madikeri JMFC principal judge on Monday passed an order permitting Ganapathi's family members, including his parents and siblings, to be considered as parties in the case. The case has been put off for further hearing to April 10. Mr Ganapathy’s son Nehal Ganapathy, who had filed a private complaint with the Principal Judge of JMFC Court in Madikeri, had stepped back, saying he didn't file any objection to the B report filed by the CID.

But Ganapathy's brother Maachaiah had appealed to the court to include the names of his father, mother, sister and himself in the case and allow them to continue the case. DySP Ganapathy reportedly hanged himself at Vinayaka Lodge in Madikeri on July 7. Just before his suicide, he had given an interview to a television news channel, where he had accused Minister K.J. George and two senior IPS officers Pranab Mohanthy and A.M. Prasad of harassing him.
