Telangana United Front State official, 2 others held for murder

Vijayalakshmi Pandit, Janardhan Reddy and Prabhu are absconding and special teams have been formed to nab them.

Hyderabad: Telangana United Front State secretary Bheem Bharath and two others were held for allegedly murdering a woman rowdy sheeter M. Varalaxmi in Vikarabad, police said. The accused who allegedly took a '3 lakh supari to kill her, strangled Varalaxmi using a plastic rope and dumped the body on the outskirts of Ananthagiripalli on Friday, police said.

Three others are absconding.Vikarabad DSP T. Swamy told the media said Varalaxmi had previous enmity with one Vijayalakshmi Pandit for five years and both of them filed cases against each other in court and lodged complaints with the police station.

Due to this, police said, Vijayalakshmi decided to eliminate Varalaxmi and contacted her associates Janardhan Reddy and Prabhu. The trio met P. Bheem Bharath, K. Narayan Das and M. Ravi and explained their plan to get rid of Varalaxmi.

“They were offered Rs 3 lakh as supari for killing Varalaxmi. As per the plan, they picked up Varalaxmi from Moinabad on Thursday night in their car to drop her at her place in Tandur. During the journey, they strangled her with a plastic rope," Mr Swamy said.

They dumped her body in the forest in Ananthagirpalli. Based on call data recordings and clues, police identified the accused and nabbed them on Sunday morning.

“Varalaxmi's family alleged that one Vimalakka is also involved in the murder. We are verifying that aspect also." Mr Swamy said. Police seized the car used in the offence, a two-wheeler and three mobiles from their possession.
