Mysuru: Professionals from outside killed BJP worker?

we are collecting evidence to arrest the accused, says city Police Commissioner Mr B Dayanand.

Mysuru: The investigation into the murder of BJP leader Raju in Mysuru reportedly points to the fact that the crime was committed by professionals from outside with the help of local people.

With reports of personal vengeance cropping up, ADGP Alok Mohan told DC that they are keeping all options open. On the alleged delay in the investigation, he said, “It is being carried out by the CCB, four special teams are working under the directions of CCB, ACB and Mysuru City Police Commissioner Mr B Dayanand.

We have interrogated several people. We have strong leads, we are collecting evidence to arrest the accused. Those who complain of delay should tell us if they know who the culprits are. We are confident of solving the case shortly,” he said.

Asked about BJP leaders pressing for a judicial probe and whether there are plans to hand over the case to CID or any other agency, he said, “Mysuru police are professionally competent, they are doing well. We will not be handing over the case to any other agency.”

Asked about Raju’s alleged involvement in finance business and the involvement of people known to him in the murder, sources in CCB said, “We are exploring all possibilities.

But rather than the personal vengeance angle, his involvement in protests against the controversial mosque near his house and for a Ganapathi temple, seem to be stronger reasons. Professionals from outside have committed the crime. Our teams have visited several places in search of the culprits. We are confident of nabbing them shortly.”

Party’s mega protest in Mysuru today

Over 4,000 BJP workers from Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajnagar are expected to participate in a protest led by BJP leaders Pralhad Joshi, R Ashok, C.T. Ravi and Mysuru MP Pratap Simha near Mysuru Palace on Monday to condemn the delay in arresting those involved in the Raju murder case.

Meanwhile Union Minister Ananth Kumar visited the residence of Raju at Kyathamaranahalli and consoled the family members. Speaking to reporters, he condemned the delay in the investigation into the murder, which had happened in CM’s hometown.

The CM should ensure that a special team works on the case, he said and added that a compensation of Rs 25 lakh has to be given to Raju’s family.
