Kamareddy: Ex-Naxal fires revolver into air

Nagalaxmi called up Sheelasagar, who immediately rushed to the spot.

KAMAREDDY: In a bizarre incident, a former Naxalite fired his revolver into air threatening his daughter and son at Posanipet village in Ramareddy mandal of Kamareddy district. The incident occurred on Saturday night but came to light on Tuesday.

As per sources within the police, Samala Srilekha, 26, a software engineer, and her brother Samala Teja, 22, a student, had entered into a quarrel with one Karnam Nagalaxmi and her son Karnam Navaneeth on Saturday evening at Posanipet village over a previous dispute.

Nagalaxmi called up Sheelasagar, who immediately rushed to the spot.

He advised his children to leave saying Nagalaxmi’s family is close to him. When they did not relent, he pulled out his revolver and fired into the air, charging Srilekha and Teja of bringing disrepute to him in the village.

In their complaint to Ramareddy police on Sunday, Srilekha and Teja said they had reached Posanipet village from Hyderabad to settle some issues with their neighbour Nagalaxmi. However, Nagal-axmi called their father who threatened to kill them and even fired into the air.

Samala Srilekha is a software engineer living at Rajendranagar in Hyderabad.
