BENGALURU: Ex-Bigg Boss Kannada contestant and winner of many reality shows, Tsunami Kitty, and his three friends were arrested by Jnanabharathi police for allegedly abducting and torturing a bartender, who they suspected of having helped their friend’s wife and her paramour.

Tsunami Kitty alias Pradeepa, Santosh alias Thuppa, Yogesh and Arjun alias Muttappa were arrested on Friday for also pointing a gun and knife at Girish, a waiter at a bar and restaurant in Kottigepalya.

Kitty, who has won many reality shows, including Indian and Thaka Dhimi Tha Dancing Star, was part of Bigg Boss Season 3.

Kitty and his gang thrashed Girish to get information about their friend Sunil’s wife Deepa and her suspected paramour Thausith, the police said.

Girish stated in his complaint that the two regularly visited the restaurant where he worked and that he had shared his number with them.

On February 25 around 5.30 pm, they came to the restaurant, but left without clearing the bill. When Girish called nearly two hours later, Thausith told him that Deepa’s husband Sunil got to know that were at the restaurant and requested Girish not to answer Sunil’s calls.

On February 28 around 3.45 pm, Girish was in Bhuvaneshwari Nagar when 4-5 people, one of whom he recognised as Kitty, forced him into a car. They took him to a farmhouse in Horamavu, where Kitty threatened Girish with a gun and a knife, and asked him to call up Thausith and to tell him to meet him near Goraguntepalya traffic signal. When Thausith came, they thrashed him till he confessed to meeting Deepa. But he said they were only friends.

Kitty and friends then snatched '10,000 from Girish and threatened to kill him if he approached police. Girish called his friends, who admitted him in hospital. He filed a police complaint soon after he was discharged from hospital.

Kitty, who was working on his first Kannada movie Adivasi, was picked up with his friends from the residence of producer Murthy in Annapurneshwarinagar.

Police have booked the accused under IPC Sections 323, 307,363,397,506 and 25(1A) of the Arms Act. A hunt is on for Sunil and other accomplices.
