Sandalwood film Danger Zone' crew clash, designer killed, 3 injured

Special team formed to nab prime accused Ramu and two others.

Bengaluru: Heated arguments over financial dispute between the co-producers of a Kannada movie titled ‘Danger Zone’ which was recently released, took a dangerous turn early Friday and resulted in the alleged killing of a designer, who had worked for the film.

The incident occurred at Someshwarnagar in Mahalakshmi Layout police station limits. The deceased has been identified as Manoj (28). The incident also left three film crew members seriously injured, when one of the co-producers attacked them with deadly weapons.

The three injured have been identified as Swaroop, who is one of the co-producers of the film, Gopi and Kamal. Manoj was working as production designer in Swaroop’s software developing company.

According to the police, the incident occurred when Ramu, the prime accused and also a co-producer of the film ‘Danger Zone’, walked into the premises of Swaroop’s office around 2.30 am. Swaroop along with three others were allegedly consuming alcohol.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Ramu had a heated argument with Swaroop and in a fit of rage Swaroop allegedly slapped Ramu. A furious Ramu called some of his friends and they rushed to the spot.

They allegedly attacked Swaroop and his men with deadly weapons, which left Manoj dead. The three injured are being treated at a hospital. A special team has been formed to nab Ramu and two others, identified as Gowtham and Prashant. The two associates have a criminal background.
