KSRTC bus runs over man, driver held
BENGALURU: Workers cleaning a KSRTC sleeper bus, which had come from Ooty, on Saturday morning were in for a rude shock when they found blood as they sprayed water on the bottom portion of the bus. On peeping they found the portion of an unidentified man’s body.
Workers at Shantinagar depot had a rude shock while cleaning a KSRTC sleeper bus, which had come from Ooty, on Saturday morning. While cleaning the bottom portion of the bus with water they found blood.
On peeping they found the portion of an unidentified man’s body. They immediately informed the nearby Wilson Garden police, who rushed to the sport and arrested the bus driver, Mohinnuddin. According to the police, around 1:30 am, somewhere between Ramanagara and Chennapatna, the bus ran over a pedestrian.
Though there was a loud noise, the driver ignored it and continued the journey. The incident came to light only around 9 am, when the workers came to wash the bus. When police questioned Mohinnuddin he said that he had heard a noise, but ignored it thinking that a rock or an animal had come under the wheels.The police immediately arrested the driver and sent the body to the Victoria hospital for post-mortem.
The police suspect that the man’s body got stuck to the bus, while some portions fell off the way. The bus did not stop anywhere on the way. The Wilson Garden police have registered a case and are trying to ascertain the victim’s identity.
