Telangana: Scooter hits boar, one dead

A 50-year-old housewife was killed in an accident on the Nagarjuna Sagar Highway.

Hyderabad: A 50-year-old housewife was killed in an accident on the Nagarjuna Sagar Highway when the scooter on which she was pillion riding hit a dead wild boar lying on the road. Yadamma died on the spot and her two sons suffered injuries. The incident happened in early on Thursday.

Police said N. Yadamma, a resident of Champapet, was going to her sister’s house in Nalgonda district. Her elder son Hanumanthu, 18, was driving the scooter and her younger son Lokesh, 14, was also on the pillion. Around 5.45 am, when their scooter reached Chaudharipalli Gate, Hanumanthu hit the boar and fell down. Police said the animal could have been hit while crossing the road.

“As it was dark the driver did not see the animal,” inspector J. Madan Mohan Reddy said. Yadamma had purchased the second hand scooter a month ago, and the registration is still in the name of the original owner. Police registered a case of accidental death and driving without a DL against Hanumanthu.
