Srikakulam: Two get life sentence for brutal assault

Visakhapatnam: Srikakulam court has convicted two persons – Kolusu Rama Rao and his accomplice Suryam – in a case of brutal assault registered by the Amadalavalsa police station.

Rama Rao and Suryam had been in an illicit relationship, which was objected to by Rama Rao’s wife Bharathi.
Following this, Rama Rao and Suryam launched a murderous attack against Bharathi and her son Vijay on February 17, 2023. The two then fled, leaving the victims heavily injured and in critical condition.

After a comprehensive investigation, Amadalavalsa police station followed up the case in the Srikakulam court headed by P. Bhaskara Rao.

The judge sentenced Rama Rao to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1,000 under Section 302 IPC.

Additionally, under Section 307 IPC, Rama Rao received a 10-year rigorous imprisonment term and ₹1,000 fine.

The judge sentenced Suryam to 585 years of imprisonment for the inhuman assault under Section 326 IPC, along with a fine of ₹500.
