Bengaluru: 2 techies die on NICE Road
BENGALURU: Two techies died on the spot when their car rammed into a truck from behind on NICE Road in Kengeri traffic police limits on Wednesday morning.The incident took place around 6 am, about 500 metres away from the Kengeri tollgate, near Vrishabhavathi River bridge.
The deceased, Prashanth Gopalakrishna (27), was a resident of K.N. Extension in Yeshwanthpur, while Akshay Kumar B.K. (25), a resident of Kadabagere.
Prashanth was reportedly driving the car (KA-05-ME-1798) at high speeds and rammed into a truck moving ahead in the same direction, while trying to overtake other vehicles. They were coming from Tumakuru and heading towards Hosur Road. There was dense fog at that time and Prashanth failed to notice the truck.
The impact left the car badly mangled and the bodies got stuck inside. The police used cutters and pliers to remove the bodies.The police detained the truck driver, Mohd Ali, but did not book him as the car hit the truck from behind and was speeding.
The bodies were shifted to Rajarajeshwari Hospital and the families were informed.Prashanth worked as a senior software engineer at Altis Source Business in Domlur, while Akshay was a software engineer with First Source, the police said.
