Telangana: Tech student blames police of harassment, ends life
Hyderabad: A 19-year-old engineering student who was earlier arrested for harassing a girl and was released a few days ago, committed suicide in Kukatpally. B. Sai Goutham jumped from the top of a hostel building. He left a suicide note stating that he was harassed during investigation of the case. According to police, Goutham, son of a farmer couple from Karimnagar district Venkatesham and Renuka, was studying B.Tech second year in VNR College and was residing in a hostel in Sainagar in KPHB. On Monday night, he jumped from the top of the hostel building and succumbed to injuries at a private hospital in Kukatpally on Tuesday morning. He left a suicide note in which he stated that people were waiting for his death and now they can be happy. “Very good police and very good rules. You also be happy with my death,” the note said.
Police during inquiry found that he was arrested by Ghatkesar police a few days ago and was released on bail. Since then he was in depression. A case of suspicious death was registered. He could have committed suicide unable to cope up with depression, police said.
