KMC files police complaint on ragging at medical college

Kurnool: Authorities of the Kurnool Medical College (KMC) have filed a complaint with the area police and cybercrime wing about ragging going on at the premises of the college.

The complaint comes in the wake of anonymous emails received by KMC, state government and University Grants Commission about ragging on the college premises.

UGC has forwarded the complaints received by it to the college authorities for appropriate action.

KMC principal Dr. P. Sudhakar the current situation has emerged following mischief by some students, who are sending anonymous emails to the Medical Council of India and UGC.

He maintained that the aim of these students is to put Kurnool Medical College into disrepute. He pointed out that the college has already taken up the matter with the police and cybercrime authorities.

Dr. Sudhakar mentioned that the anti-ragging committee of the college recently convened a meeting to discuss the ragging issue. But some students discouraged inquiries, saying they would impact the academic activities.

Several allegations of ragging in KMC have gone viral on social media.
