Hyderabad: Accused watchman fled after girl missed school

Based on a complaint of the girl's parents, the police registered a case under the POCSO Act.

Hyderabad: The accused watchman, who allegedly misbehaved with a minor girl, fled after the girl abstained from school suspecting that he might be caught. He came back to the city after a few days and he was caught by the police. According to the police, the accused, Kamal Bhan, 30, has working as a security guard at the school for the last few years.

“Following a complaint lodged by the parents of the girl on October 26, we approached the school management and asked about the watchman. They informed us that the watchman was on leave and he was caught when he returned,” a police official from Abids police station said. In the complaint, the family charged the security guard with touching the girl inappropriately and misbehaving with her after school hours.

The girl, unable to bear the pain and itching in her private parts, mustered the courage to tell the parents, who lodged a complaint against at the Abids police station. The misbehaviour took place for a fortnight. And the girl informed her parents about it on October 21 when she was taken to a hospital after falling ill. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under the POCSO Act.
