Hyderabad: Migrant labourer killed in accident
Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man died on Saturday after a speeding tipper lorry hit his bike from behind at Addagutta crossroads under Pet Basheerabad police station limits. The police has identified the victim as Satish Mahendra, a migrant labourer from Nanded in Maharashtra.
Pet Basheerabad sub inspector D. Mahesh said, “The man was going from Gundlapochampally to Addagutta. At Addagutta crossroads, a tipper lorry hit the bike from behind on Saturday evening. He sustained severe head injuries. Onlookers rushed him to a nearby hospital, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The police have registered the case under section 304 (a) (causing death by negligence) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC and arrested the lorry driver. Further investigation is on.
The police have handed over the body to the family members of the victim after conducting autopsy at Gandhi Hospital.
